After 12 months of witnessing the most depressing style of football in living memory, not to mention the record amount of crosses amassed in one game (2-2 Home Draw with relegated Fulham), we can finally start to appreciate some top quality football at Manchester United again. The appointment of Louis van Gaal has breathed some life back into the club and the players are enjoying themselves again, wanting the ball more and even having the confidence to execute some fancy flicks and tricks. United's pre-season thus far has been a success and the football produced in all the games has been breath-taking and we are starting to dominate possession. The signing of Ander Herrera has been the highlight of the summer so far. 12 months after the collapse of the deal on deadline day last summer, it has come as a relief to see the deal being resurrected and completed this time around. He is exactly the type of player United have been crying out for and he has not disappointed. He has fitted in seamlessly and dictated all the games he has featured in. Let's hope his current form and Manchester United's current form can be transferred into the forthcoming premier league campaign, starting with our home game against Swansea on August 16th. Great to have the old Manchester United back and long may it continue.
